A group of 33 asylum seekers who were deported from Christmas Island, Australia arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake today in a special flight under heavy security.

The group consisted of eight women, twenty-five men and eight children who were mostly Tamils from Jaffna.

These deportees are reported to have left from Trincomalee in a fishing boat to enter Australia illegally. They have been deported after their appeal for political asylum was rejected.

I feel sorry about you. You may have lost everything. The next best thing you should do is to give better education to your kids, so they can take a better route to Australia. Hitha Athnam Patha Kuda da still work in SL.

Well done Australia-Sri Lanka. Now they can live peaceful in Sri Lanka in North. Chief Minister is a Tamil and he will care about Tamils in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is free from LTTE.

None of these are genuine "refugees". They are nothing but "economic migrants" seeking entry with the "refugee" label.
