'Pictorial warning' postponed to March 28

Deputy Solicitor General Arjuna Obeysekara gave an undertaking before the Supreme Court today, that the Gazette relating to the Pictorial warning on cigarette packs would not be in force until March 28 when the case was taken up today.The next hearing was fixed to March 28.

Yes totally agree, the government should stick to standard globally accepted size (80%) of pictorial health warnings (PHW). Why can't SL stand on their decision of covering 80% of the cigarette packaging with PHW like Australia.

Pictoral warnings should be implemented with immediate effect. Cigarettes do nothing but cause harm to smokers and others.
