Govt. says inquiries an internal matter

E-mail Print
While confirming that an internal inquiry was underway regarding the conduct of government MPs who refrained from voting for the impeachment motion, Cabinet spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella said it was “entirely an internal party matter”.

“The matter was directed by certain members to the Secretary General of the party and it has been dealt with internally. It’s entirely an internal matter of the party” he said.

Speaking to Daily Mirror on media reports that he had also been subject to the inquiry, SLFP national list MP, Prof. Rajeeva Wijesinghe said he had only heard of such through the media.

“It is only through the media that is opposed to the SLFP that I have seen such stories. I haven’t seen any news regarding this on pro-government media. If news of this nature is to be “leaked” I assume it should have been to the pro-government media” he said.

Prof. Wijesinghe however, told the media that the SLFP could not take disciplinary action against him since he was only a partner of the SLFP and not a member of the party.(Hafeel Farisz)

So, what you are saying now is that you are representing the SLFP or the Common Alliance? Whose votes got you there Keheliya? Just remember that your opinion is not necessarily that of your voters.

Those people who are not falling in line with Party decision should be kicked out. Especially, those LSSP guys who been in politics for so long and still they do not know they are coming or going.

Well said Nicky, the same theory should apply to the UNP too if they decide to expel their MPs who defied party decision and voted for the Impeachment and in fact they should lose their seats too. What say?
