Law College registration postponed

2013-01-08 05:12:13

Registrations for the new intake at Law College have been postponed by a week following a discussion between representatives of the Bodu Bala Sena and the Principal of Law College today.

A tense situation arose yesterday outside Law College when demonstrators attempted to handover a petition to the principal at Hulftdrop alleging a majority of students selected to the collage this year were Muslims students. (Kithsiri de Mel)

If the Muslim student did well at the entrance exam they must be permitted to register. At the same time the issue is worth an investigation to see if there was any favouritism. If yes the people involved must be charged in court

Investigation to be done to findout if there is anything went wrong. If they found any culprits they should be punish severely not innocent students.

Looks like typical chauvanism.Sri Lanka keeps going backwards.Had the opportunity to visit Singapore recently, every race is united and eventhough their economy is going through tough times the government is investing in people oriented projects .

just wonder how can religion or ethnicity involve with exam result or law registration????
As Ram Perera said students who did the exam well they shoud be allowed to matter its 100% budhist or 100% hindu or 100% muslim....
if the government really fair enough it should wipe out this sort of racist protest at earliest as possible before it becomes a mojor issue among communities...
