Following the arrest of a printing unit personal in suspect of an involvement in the 2012 O/L Science paper leak, the Examinations Commissioner said measures are underway to strengthen the security of their printing unit.

Commissioner Pushpakumara speaking to Daily Mirror said the measures will be implemented swiftly, in order to ensure similar incidents of examination confidentiality violations do not recur.

Among measures that are to be implemented include the re-installation of a more technologically advanced security-camera system within the printing unit and the replacement of present printing equipment with more advanced machines.

“Steps will also be taken to provide new uniforms without pockets, to the printing unit staff members,” Commissioner Pushpakumara added.

He also mentioned that a decision has also been made to develop the present set of regulations with concern to the code of guidelines relevant for the staffs on examination duty, in order to ensure the penalties for those who neglect their duties are severe. (Lakna Paranamanna)
