Dayananda gets tough with IGP

Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayaka has directed the IGP to confiscate buses displaying political banners and cut outs and remove all posters in the island by March 15, JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayaka said.

The Elections Chief has also informed the political parties contesting the upcoming polls that he will meet the heads of the state media soon to urge them to maintain their guidelines and ensure balanced reporting, the JVP MP added.

Party secretaries of all poltical parties met the Elections Chief today afternoon and discussed issues relating to the upcoming General polls. Issues related to the Elections violence was also discussed. (YP)
