Kegalle High Court today sentenced an accused to 35 years rigorous imprisonment for aiding and abetting a female LTTE suicide cadre who attempted to assassinate former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka on April 26, 2006.High Court judge Ms. Menaka Wijesundara convicted Shanmugalingum Sooriyakumar alias Suri in four counts including escorting the suicide bomber Manjula Devi from Kilinochchi and harbouring her in Weliweriya. The convict was a lorry driver from Rambukkana.
