Attempt on SF’s life: bomber’s aide sentenced

Kegalle High Court today sentenced an accused to 35 years rigorous imprisonment for aiding and abetting a female LTTE suicide cadre who attempted to assassinate former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka on April 26, 2006.

High Court judge Ms. Menaka Wijesundara convicted Shanmugalingum Sooriyakumar alias Suri in four counts including escorting the suicide bomber Manjula Devi from Kilinochchi and harbouring her in Weliweriya. The convict was a lorry driver from Rambukkana.

The female suicide bomber attempted the assassination of Fonseka on April 25, 2006 at the Army Headquarters in Colombo. (Kegalle - Rohan Kumara)

DISGUSTED-If this accused is send for 35 years RI, KP should be send to gallows for supplying arms ( aiding abetting LTTE) for killing thousands and Thousands of innocent civilians and men and women in the Armed forces.

Who is this women suicide bomber?
How could she managed to get into Army HQ? Who gave access to her? how could she became so powerful?
Who is responsible for such worst security lapses in Army HQ?
Why personal butler of Army Cheif who was captured for this conspiracy was allowed to hang himself in the custody?

SF says that he rescued the country by wining the war but his life too was in risky as he was attempted by a bomber then who took initiative to eradicate those who were responsible . It was MR.
