The lawyer of the Army Major, who was injured during a brawl at JAIC-Hilton Colombo, filed an affidavit before the Colombo Fort Magistrate today stating that Malaka Silva and Rehan Wijeratne did not assault him.The affidavit also stated that five others, who are in the remand prison, have assaulted him and also agreed to settle the matter amicably. In his motion before Colombo Fort Magistrate Kanishka Wijeratne, counsel Dinesh D. Dodamgoda appearing for the aggrieved party informed that his client Major Chandana Pradeep Susena had decided to arrive at an amicable settlement with the consent of both parties.
According to the affidavit attested by Commissioner of Oaths R.S.A. Kottelawala, the complainant said though Malaka Silva and Rehan Wijeratne were present at the hotel, they were not involved in assaulting him and even did not aid or abet in the commission of the offence. He said some of the others who were at the hotel might have assaulted him. Cont. From page 1
The army major said the lawyers of the two parties would discuss the settlement.
The Major said that though he had alleged that his gold chain was robbed by someone at the hotel he had later found it at his residence.
Filing a motion, counsel Dodamgoda moved Court that the case be taken up tomorrow and notice be issued on the complainant party to appear in Court. Having considered the submissions, the Magistrate ordered the Court Registrar to issue notice on Major Chandana Pradeep Susena through the Commanding Officer of the Army Hospital requesting that he appears in court on September 24(Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

THE TRUE STORY IS DIFFERENT HERE, THIS MAJOR HAS NOTHING TO DO, EXCEPT WITHDRAW THE CASE AS HIS SENIOR OFFICERS ARE RELUCTANT TO SUPPORT HIM AND TOLD THE POLICE THAT THEY NEVER KNEW ABOUT THE MAJOR'S VISIT TO THE HOTEL THAT PARTICULAR NIGHT.
FINALLY MAJOR HAD TO PROTECT HIMSELF AS NO ONE THERE TO HELP HIM, SO HE DECIDED TO WITHDRAW THE CASE. THAT IS THE TRUE PICTURES. PLEASE EVERYONE SHOULD UNDERSTAND THIS. THIS MAJOR HAD LOT OF THINGS TO THE COUNTRY, WITH HIS HELP THE AIR FORCE AND ARMY ABLE TO DESTROY MOST NUMBER OF TARGETS OF THE LTTE. UNTIL 2011 HE SERVED IN THE NORTH AND EAST AND CAME TO COLOMBO TO LEAD THE CONTROL THE DRUG MENACE IN THE COUNTRY.
SO DON'T BLAME HIM, ALTHOUGH HE HAD HIS GUN WITH HIM, AS A PROFESSIONAL SOLDIER, HE NEVER USE GUNS AGAINST CIVILIANS. THAT YOU CALLED BRAVERY. SO THINK ABOUT THAT......

1. Is he a real Major?
2. If so had he forgotten to protect himself?
3. Did he go to the hotel far a shady deal?
4. Who hit him ? or were the reports false?
5. Was he alone or were there no witnesses, The CCTV?
6. What about the report he had made about the assault?
Finally the Army is made up of Soldiers. After the war we were proud of our Army. But today Shame! Shame on you.
For justices sake and the credibility of the Forces. If what was reported of the incident originally was true, The Major? should not be allowed to withdraw in the light of the evidence.
Gone are the days, officers were recruited after a careful selection process looking at the breed.

What about the CCTV footage, Could not any media network get hold of it? So we can see the conclusion of this cheap show.

The CCTV footage was someone practicing for a teledrama notting to do with this case (police will belive this as well )
The good Major, no doubt was not influenced to file the affidavit in true democratic fashion.
But the funny thing is why did the major take such a long time to come out with this.
If army major do not have guts ! that too being under cover agent .. we ordinary people no where !
I'd like to reiterate that the present government has done much good to the country, but these loose elements MUST be done away with.
When people see MaraWin or Maraka, they get angry and they cannot bare their rude actions and also cannot hit them(Kalu galaka oluwa gaha ganna bahane). So, major hit himself.
