A youth had died after exploding a grenade inside a double cab in Thihagoda, Matara over a love affair a short while ago, police said.

The suspect identified as 37-year-old army major identified was married with two children but reported to have been having a love affair with a 17-year-old school girl living in Kamburupitiya. Police said he had asked the girl to meet him with her father on the fateful.

Following an argument with them he had entered the double cab and pulled the pin off the hand grenade killing him in the resultant explosion. (SD and KJJ)
