Wimal angry over attacks against Lankans

E-mail Print
Minister Wimal Weerawansa sounded an alarm over the anti Sri Lankan attitude by the Tamil Nadu government and asked what the consequences would if Sri Lankans chose to treat thousands of Tamil Nadu citizens who regularly visited Sri Lanka in a similar manner.

The minister urged the Indian government to prevail upon what he described as the politically and racially motivated foolish actions of Tamil Nadu politicians and prevent a possible catastrophic situation that would seriously harm the interests of both countries.

He said the Indian government must take immediate steps to prevent the anti Sri Lankan campaign in Tamil Nadu and put an end to hostilities against Sri Lankans before it got out of hand.

The minister told a news conference that Tamil Nadu authorities had forced sportsmen and defence personnel to leave the state resulting from racially influenced policies.(Sandun A Jayasekera)

Good one Janaki! In fact the vast majority of the rhetoric of our rulers is of this kind. Jokers! Only hitch is we can't laugh at you as it would eventually make us the laughing stock.

if a fool or a lunatic person, who should be in the lunatic hospital rules a country, how u will act. cool down mr veeravansa. tit for tat is not the solution. indian government is helpless, because manmohansingh will fall down from the throne, if he acts quickly. he cannot stand or walk in his own. and his government is under the mercy of some political leaders. you have to chew and assimilate this till 2014 when the next general election comes. the sky will be clear only after that date.

What right has he got to talk on this matter after his shameful act in front of the UN office in Sri Lanka. I thought he and his master maintained that it is "my car, my petrol" attitude.

During the past 48 hours we have had 3 children being murdered in SL reported here in DM. 1 shot and 2 stabbed. God knows how many more go unreported. Our 'leaders' are trying to lecture a super power with nukes. Our fools should worry about our own mess first. What a god awful mess we're now in and it's all game. Even the kids!
