Nagenahira Nagas beat Ruhuna Royals by 5 runs on Duckworth/Lewis method in the first match of the Sri Lanka Premier League tournament at the R. Premadasa Stadium this evening.

4 top all-rounders haven't been included in this tournament though one may find dozen of very average local players in these teams who are either very close relatives or friends of officials and senior players. e.g. Umesh Karunarathna the Best Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2008 with a 1st Cl Bat Ave 35.91 & Bow.Ave. 18.01. Other notable omissions are Geeth Kumara, Geeth Alwis and Chathuranga de Silva with 1st Cl Bat Ave & 1st Cl Bow Ave : 32.13& 26.73; 36.05 &26.47 & 34.28 & 24.33 respectively. A very many brilliant schoolboy Cricketers of recent times also were ignored in order to make way for some aging local Cricketers in their late 30s & early 40s which serves no purpose.

DM admin, don;t dance tune to these Indian events. have a national interest at least. Boycott ....Indians services and good. Use your media to educate Sri Lakan against these dirty Indians . Just look at quality of Indian products we buy in SL? Can't we manufacture them in SL with better quality? Start using media wisely. Just don't lick Ranil or Rajapasse ....to gain few bucks. Put national interest first at least. Im really fed up reading these stupid news items and this could be my last comment.

@Kosgoda don't show your ignorance here. Its sad Sri Lankans doesn't understand this. Non of the developed nations allow cheap, law quality Indian products to be imported and even China has different quality standard when importing to developed nations. What I am try to say is, at least try to produce goods in SL than importing these law quality Indian products. Their services also the same. If the SL wants to develop, quality will play a huge role and as a example just look at low quality coal power plant we have now? This is because politians looking for better commission than quality. Anyway I have write enough and up to Sri Lankan people to do whatever you deemed fit. Although we lived in far away we just feel sad how things moving after the war. Although I decided not to comment here, thought my response would be good. Cheers!!
