SLPL player draft behind closed doors

E-mail Print
The player draft of the inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) T20 will be held today at 5 p.m. at Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo behind closed doors and will be out of bound for media.

“Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has taken a policy decision to not allow the media attend the player draft. It will be limited only to SLC officials and members of the SLPL franchises” said SLC’s Head of Marketing and Communications Vajira Dassanayake.

Most of the details about the SLPL have not yet been made public and  have been shrouded in secrecy so far.

There was speculation that there would be no players auction similar to the Indian Premier League, but players would be drafted to each franchise based on a lottery.

Dissanayake promised that the details would be announced at a media conference later once all details are finalized.
