Jaya asks Centre to block SLAF training

E-mail Print
Taking objection to the training being imparted to Sri Lankan Air Force personnel at an Indian Air Force base near Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalaithaa today (Thursday) urged the Centre to immediately cancel the programme and send the personnel back to Sri Lanka.

“At a time when there are voices demanding equal status for Tamils in Sri Lanka, reports about Sri Lankan Air Force personnel receiving training at the Tambaram Air Force Station near here was something against the Tamils. I strongly condemn this,” she said in a statement in Chennai.

She slammed the Centre for remaining “silent” on a resolution moved by the state assembly calling for economic sanctions against Sri Lanka besides demanding equal status for Tamils in that country and said “it is an insult for the Tamil people that the Centre is imparting military training to the Air Force personnel from Sri Lanka”.

“While there are demands for sanction against those charged of war crimes, the fact that the Sri Lankan Air Force personnel are being trained in India is not only improper, but also against interests of Tamil people. This (the nine—month training for nine personnel) should be withdrawn and they should be sent back to the island nation”, she insisted. (PTI)

Even Jayalalitha should be thankful to MR for eliminating LTTE and making TN safe for her to rule.
She has to reciprocate for this by trainning our personnel.

Jayalalitha knows SLAF doesn't need the Indian training as India needs our training to control smugglers in India. She knows our people's talents and jealous on SL as a whole.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha has dictated the policies of India to her detriment. It was Tamil Nadu that supported the Tamil tigers during the war and once they lost the war they pressured New Delhi on the human rights issues making India the only nation in the region to vote against Sri Lanka. Now she is interfering on a practice done for several years with India. Sri Lanka's air force personnel can seek better training from China and New Delhi should be notified. Sri Lanka must make sure that Tamil Nadu will not determine the future of Sri Lanka
