Court refuses restraining order on UNP

E-mail Print
Nugegoda District Judge Champa Janaki Rajaratna today refused to issue an order restraining the United National Party (UNP) from holding a disciplinary inquiry against UNP parliamentarian Karu Jayasuriya.

The Judge made this order after considering an application filed Mr. Jayasuriya asking that the UNP disciplinary committee be restrained from holding an inquiry against him for commenting on the four-member committee headed by lawyer  Srinath Perera. The committee was set up to inquire into the turmoil that took place soon after the election of party officials. (T. Farook Thajudeen)
