If justice is not delivered people will rise-Hirunika

E-mail Print
Hirunika Premachandra, the daughter of the slain Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra said that the whole country is watching the proceedings of the case and if justice is not delivered the countrymen would rise up against it.

Showing pictures taken at the scene of the crime, which showed the former MP lying in a pool of blood minutes after the shootout  to the media present at courts, Hirunika urged authorities to act equitably.

“Its not only the people present here today, but the whole country is watching the events unfold in this case and all of us demand justice. If justice is not delivered people will rise against this,” she said.

She also asked the CID to be humane in handling the affair and consider the plight that the  family is undergoing, “its been six months since my father was killed and the CID doesn’t seem to be interested in giving justice. They have continuously delayed the case against our interest. I urge them to be humane and think if they would act the same way if one of their family members  were murdered in this manner,” she said.

Just because you are Bharatha's daughter you can speak out. But how many are there in this country who have faced the same scenario weeping in silence because they cannot speak out.

Justice has been denied to us for a long time so its nothing new to us. People will not rise against the Govt just for this as its your personal affair. If you are agitating against the increase in the costs of living or for the corruption and wastage happening then maybe the people will follow you.

To become a powerful politician in Sri Lanka, first you must start you career as drug dealer and womanizer. Then turn to politics. You will get enormous power & no one touch you.
