Land of acting Magistrate sold on a faked deed

A suspect produced in court on February 17 for allegedly selling 74 perch land belonging to an acting magistrate for Rs.10 million on a fraudulently prepared deed has been re-remanded till February 22 by the Kandy acting  additional magistrate Mahinda Liyanage
 
The remanded suspect was Vijira Buddika Ranathunga a resident of Nawayalatanna
 
The prosecutor OIC of special crime investigation division of Kandy IP Lalith Samaranayaka submitted in court that there were similar cases against the suspect in the Matale, Gangodawila and Kandy courts and investigations are continuing regarding these cases.
 
The case has been filed against the suspect following a complaint made by an Acting Magistrate of the Mt Lavinia court.
 
Further investigations are continuing into this case. (J.A.L.Jayasingha)

Land frauds are on the increase. The government appears unconcerned. Where do the people turn to for remedy.

The suspect has similar pending cases in three other city courts, so he is out in bail freely to carry out the same over and over. Very Good judiciary system.
