Racket facilitating illegal immigrants uncovered

E-mailPrint
Judicial authorities and police officials from Finland, France and Belgium conducted a joint operation against a Sri Lankan criminal network on February 6, Europol and Eurojust said in a joint statement Friday.

Eurojust is an EU judicial cooperation body.

The network is suspected of facilitating the illegal entry of people from Sri Lanka to France, frequently using a route through the United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Tanzania, Turkey and Finland, it noted.

So far a total of 27 suspects have been arrested and interrogated in Finland, France and Belgium. Some of the illegals used counterfeit British and Indian passports to travel to Europe and Canada.

Investigations to analyse the results of the operation are continuing. (Kuwait News Agencies)

These very countries encouraged, supported and opened their doors to these people. It's good that at least now they are opening their eyes. But only because things are getting out of hand.
