The UNP has suspended the membership of the six UNP parliamentarians who supported the 18th amendment and later crossed over to the government benches in parliament today.

Senior UNP member Joseph Michael Perera said that the UNP working committee will conduct a disciplinary inquiry over the six UNP members who crossed over to the government today before deciding on the future of their membership which is likely to be canceled.

The UNP MPs include Upeksha Swarnamali, Earl Gunasekara, Abdul Cader, N. Wijesingha, Lakshman Seneviratne and Manusha Nanayakkara.(Daily Mirror online)

We should understand the fact that even though RW is not the best leader, he is THE current leader of the UNP. All the UNP loyals MUST leave aside internal disputes and collaborate effectively to bring the party to power whilst securing the countries future. Government is deliberately attempting to create internal conflicts within UNP so as to get the advantage by preventing UNP being powerful to challenge the government. Sajith should understand that, if he continues to work in this way, situation would be even worse where as he may have fractioned party left to lead.

Ranjan Ramanayaka, Rosy Senanayaka, and Dayasiri Jayasekera will be the next to leave the U N P, and join the government. Dayasiri and Rosy will be Major assets.

of the others left with the U N P only Ruwan Wijewardene is of value rest are not worth thinking of.

The balance of the drama to be unfolded will be as follows:-
    1)They will go to courts
    2)They will win
3)The UNP leader will then be silent.
