A peon working in a leading bank in Thimbirigasyaya was arrested for withdrawing Rs. 2.6 lakhs from a savings account of an 80 year old doctor who is residing in the United States.

The suspect was arrested after he was identified through an ATM security camera while checking the balance of the victim’s account.

The suspect, well aware that the account holder was overseas had applied for the ATM card after forging the necessary documents. He had then withdrawn almost Rs.265,350 using the ATM while evading ATMs with security cameras when withdrawing cash.

The suspect was arrested by the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau and will be produced in court tomorrow.  (Daily Mirror online)

A peon cannot do it alone without the support of some high ranking officers. Investigate and detect the master brains behind this fraud.

He can't be a peon, he must be a educated and intelligence chap. he must be promoted to suitable post, after legal action taken for fraudulence.
