Former SLFP Mahajana Wing Leader Mangala Samaraweera joined the UNP a short while ago at the UNP Headquarters in Sirikotha in the presence of Party Leader Ranil Wickremasingha.
The SLFP Mahajana Wing led by Samaraweera was officially dissolved earlier in the week.
The General Secretary of the Mahajana wing, Upulanganie Malagama said that the decision was taken at the Central Committee meeting held on Wednesday. (Daily Mirror online)

Why does UNP needs a clown like this. He destroyed our party and we take any reject gladly. Remember he was the architect behind the bringing 2003 UNP government. Born looser like his buddy Anura and will destroy UNP too.

Actually I appreciate Mangala's braveness in talking and working against a powerfull regime. He was the man behind the president coming to power and I hope he has the power to make Ranil our president one day.

Good. At least you can help UNP to bridge the deficit of members as lot are leaving the party one by one to join the ruling party, despite the promise of the President.

Just adding another head count to UNP nothing more than that. Or the situation could be worse with these kind of people.

Poor decision by Mangala. Why jump on a sinking ship. I hope he can steady the ship and that over the leadership of the UNP and guide it in the correct direction.
