E-mail Print

By Roel Raymond and Supun Dias

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) recorded a statement today from former cricketer Hashan Tillekaratne over Danuna Tillekaratne, the son-in-law of General Sarath Fonseka.

Meanwhile Police Spokesman SP Prashanth Jayakody told Daily Mirror online that Tillekaratne's house was searched yeaterday after information had been received to the CID that Danuna Tillekaratne was hiding in his house.

The Police Spokesman added however that Danuna had not been at the premises of Hashan Tillekaratnes house and that the CID had only recorded a statement from Mr.Tillekaratne before leaving.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Danuna Tillekaratne in connection to the Hicorp case. (Daily Mirror online)

Hats off to Dhanuna - with the entire police, and the three forces hunting him, he seems to have managed to give them the boot

Why don't the police arrest Hashan first, and then look for evidence to charge him with (as usual) ?

It looks like the comments page has turned out to be a place where no sense is made. If any of you who comment here is hiding a fugitive, don't be surprised if your house is searched. Hashan said to the police Danuna was in his house basically until the police came and now may be in Hashan's neighbour's house. Danuna has a case to answer and he knows he is in the wrong so keeps hiding. Only a thief can say well done to him for being on the run. He should come out and clear his name (if he can that is..which I doubt).

Well said Ruwan. Hashan as a leading person in politics should know when he gave assiatnce to his cousin in hide from CID at his house that he was wilfully comiting a crime. CID might want to question others in family circles of Hashan and get this wanted Danuna. Some factions who is arguing on the law of the country is now expecting these culprits to go free?.

Quitting politics is not enough should embrace and cling on to the bandwagon!
