By Our London CorrespondentForeign Secretary David Miliband speaking at the Global Tamil Forum Conference in London a short while ago heavily criticized the LTTE for the violence it created and for its use of child soldiers.
Speaking further, Miliband also called for an investigation into war crimes committed by the LTTE and the Sri Lankan government and called for constitutional changes and power sharing in Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile a Spokesperson at the British High Commission in Colombo, in a statement said that in Miliband’s speech to the Global Tamil Forum, the Foreign Secretary, will re-emphasize that a peaceful, political solution is the only way to produce a lasting answer to Sri Lanka's conflict.
“It is for all Sri Lanka’s people to decide what that solution should look like. The UK firmly believes that the only way to achieve lasting and equitable peace in Sri Lanka is through genuine national reconciliation. The UK will engage with all members of the Sri Lankan community who share this goal, whether overseas or in Sri Lanka. Foreign & Commonwealth Office officials regularly meet with members of the Sinhalese, Muslim and Tamil communities in the UK to discuss this and other developments in Sri Lanka,’’ the Spokesperson said. I wonder if he realizesw that had he, and all the Euros and the Yanks stood AGAINST LTTE's terrorism specially during the "Peace Accord" and had they with-held support to the tiger leader and his gang, many lives would have been saved? The world will one day realize and say that, had the Norsemen and the others taken a firm stand against the LTTE but pursued a peaceful and a WORKABLE solution to the "problem" and convinced the diaspora and the rest of the world that this nation cannot be separated, our country would not be identified as a "militaristic state", and also, we would have regarded all the Euros and the Yanks as friends. Think deeply about it.
Yes, ever since the human race became civilized, we knew that. But when will we achieve, Mr. Miliband or any honest person or organization out there, after the Tamil community is wiped out.
Preaching is easy(UN, USA, EU, Catholics, Christian, Buddhist, Islamist). When it comes to doing the right think, you all fail very badly.
Everybody knows who he is and what his motives are.
