Miliband criticizes the LTTE

By Our London Correspondent

Foreign Secretary David Miliband speaking at the Global Tamil Forum Conference in London a short while ago heavily criticized the LTTE for the violence it created and for its use of child soldiers.

Speaking further, Miliband also called for an investigation into war crimes committed by the LTTE and the Sri Lankan government and called for constitutional changes and power sharing in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile a Spokesperson at the British High Commission in Colombo, in a statement said that in Miliband’s speech to the Global Tamil Forum, the Foreign Secretary, will re-emphasize that a peaceful, political solution is the only way to produce a lasting answer to Sri Lanka's conflict.

“It is for all Sri Lanka’s people to decide what that solution should look like.  The UK firmly believes that the only way to achieve lasting and equitable peace in Sri Lanka is through genuine national reconciliation. The UK will engage with all members of the Sri Lankan community who share this goal, whether overseas or in Sri Lanka. Foreign & Commonwealth Office officials regularly meet with members of the Sinhalese, Muslim and Tamil communities in the UK to discuss this and other developments in Sri Lanka,’’ the Spokesperson said.  (Daily Mirror online)

By ANY standard, this man is a joker! All these days he was critical of the Sri Lankan State for struggling to keep her unitary identity, and NOW the man sings a different tune.!!!

I wonder if he realizesw that had he, and all the Euros and the Yanks stood AGAINST LTTE's terrorism specially during the "Peace Accord" and had they with-held support to the tiger leader and his gang, many lives would have been saved? The world will one day realize and say that, had the Norsemen and the others taken a firm stand against the LTTE but pursued a peaceful and a WORKABLE solution to the "problem" and convinced the diaspora and the rest of the world that this nation cannot be separated, our country would not be identified as a "militaristic state", and also, we would have regarded all the Euros and the Yanks as friends. Think deeply about it.

Hon. DM, I think you should put more effort to address problems facing by your own people. Don't forget, you are being paid by your own people, not from diaspora. Oh are you in diaspora payroll? Hmm...??

Looks like our foreign minister, Bogols, had jumped the gun even before listening to what Miliband had to say.

peaceful, political solution is the only way to produce a lasting answer to Sri Lanka's conflict -

Yes, ever since the human race became civilized, we knew that. But when will we achieve, Mr. Miliband or any honest person or organization out there, after the Tamil community is wiped out.

Preaching is easy(UN, USA, EU, Catholics, Christian, Buddhist, Islamist). When it comes to doing the right think, you all fail very badly.

GOSL forces have repeatedly claimed that they have not been involved in any war crimes - so why shouldn't we let an independent investigation take place, to come out with the facts. It is because we are not allowing such an independent investigation that the world is looking at us with suspicion. We are clean, therefore we need not fear any kind of investigation!

Amazing how the 'tune' is different when the power base of LTTE is gone! Miliband was 'singing a different tune for his supper' when the LTTE was holding the gun, power and land!

Bogolla messed it up. He called the British High Commissioner to his office, and blasted the LTTE. Miliband saw the advantage and he too, blasted the LTTE!

Innocent People getting killed in a war and displacing people is war crime for you. What can you say about invading countries and killing innocent people , taking children away from their families after telling loads of lies and settling them in various countries. You people have ruined our country by creating divisions among the races, relegions etc and now preaching to follow your advice. Do you think now people will believe you and what your masters say. Why dont you people come clean first.

British govt has not categoricaly denounced tiger seperatism & tterrorism unleashed funded by Tamil diaspora as a means for national reconciliiation. His speach was intended to satisfy the diaspora by calling once again for war crimes investigations against SL Govt to take revenge from Rajapakse govt when he clearly knows that no tiger leadership has been spared by our great armed forces for any stupid war crimes against these murders who knew only that to achive their impossible dreAm of pee-Eelam.

Both LTTE and British do godders are in the same boat! Both have one commonality. Both have treated their own children as dirt using them as slaves to carry out guns and meanial jobs of dam building and cannon fodder. One has apologised in British parliament of cruelty to children sending them to distance lands distorting their birth, the other yet to do that in their 30 years of war and cruelty to Tamil children! Birds of feather flock together!

Looks like Miliband has changed his tune after Bogols met British HC. He should have said the same thing last year when tigers were being eliminated instead of trying to stop the war to save the tigers. Miliband is a disgrace to the UK.
