I alway thought he will make it. When he spoke he was humble. Never attached anybody. He made his speeches small and clear. When he spoke it was the same tone from start to finish and no beating on his cheat. At times I thought I was listening to Mr.Obama. All the best Sir.

Well done and said Ranil let start a new beginning of justice for all. And an all inclusive country where irrespective of our ethnicity and religious beliefs we could all be proud to be Sri Lankans. However investigation regarding corruption and robbing of public money need to be done and guilty brought to justice and the money returned to the people of this country. This act will be a deterrent to ALL future politicians as well that POLITICIANS cant ROB.

independent of HR violation accusations other law breaching acts of MR govt. should be cleared leagally also from other parties like UNP, BBS and minority parties without any special preferences. KP should be remanded as well Karuna, and Daya master. What about WW and Mervin the Rupavahini chief, K.T Rajasingam and other stooges of the past govt. who acted like small barons? A good governance begins there where the governed start to trust the govt. in its neutrality and fairness. MS should be impartial to minorities and treat them all as citizens of the country.

My heartfelt congratulations to Maithri Sirisena. A suggestion I wish to make is with the amendments to the constitution, please consider adding:1) A caretaker govt to be appointed at election time. This will avoid abuse of power as witnessed this time.20 At a Gen Election, vote is given for the party and NOT the individual as such any crossover should not be tolerated. In such an event hold a by election.

YES. At a Gen Election, it is the party and NOT the candidate. Call for a by election and avoid crossovers.

Hope future elections will be held free and fair, this is the first "peoples elections" held post-independence based on "change" and not based on religion , race or party .Bravo to the people who upheld the peace and transition . let not hatred determine our destiny, and desist those who are trouble makers in either of the sides.

Winning election is hard. But it is very hard to rule a country. It is the end of the problem of late president Mahinda Rajapaksa. It is the beginning of the problem of new president Maithripala Sirisena. The big problem is how to handle the Asian giant India and china without hurting the Srilankan interest. How to stand the economic pressure of western nations through IMF and World Bank. How to increase the consuming power of Sri Lankans.Economy is the concentration of politics. If there is a big economy small politics is enough. If there is a small economy we need big politics.Ethnic problem in the last analysis divert the insoluble economic problems through the channel of ethnic problems. Srilankan history is enriched with this sort of diversions time immemorial.

Any real victory for the people in this election would rest on whether the new government would bring them justice. This would require that all corrupt politicians and officials, murderers, rapists and racketeers who had amassed fortunes under the previous Regime would be duly prosecuted and punished for their abominable crimes against the people and the country

Canada should learn to respect Sovereign States. Or else very soon Khalistan and Eelam will be established in Canada it self.
