Police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesting university students who had reached Fort on a protest march organised by the Inter University Student Federation (IUSF). Free education at university level should be abolished in Sri Lanka as these students do not appreciate the value of what the tax payers provide them. Once they start paying for their education they will think twice before protesting at the drop of a hat.
