All 6 blasts which occurred early this morning were a result of suicide bombers; initial investigations have revealed. The Daily Mirror learns that investigations thus far have revealed that two people had checked into room number 616 of the Shangri-La Hotel on April 20, 2019.

The close circuit television camera (CCTV) footage revealed that the suspects detonated the bombs in the cafeteria and on the corridor at the hotel.

Investigators suspect that C-4 explosives weighing 25 kilograms were used for the bombings at the Shangria- La Hotel.

The investigators who broke into the room had recovered material used by radical extremists, sources confirmed.

It is unclear if the bombers were locals or international tourists who arrived on tourist visas to the island. Further investigations are being carried out.

Await more details. (Darshana Sanjeewa & Hafeel Farisz)

exactly..in the first place, just because the material used is so called "islamic terrorist material" it doesnt mean that its done by muslims..and cant you media guys ever stop giving terrorist a religion?

From the very moment, looking at the nature of the massacre, I knew this wasn't the LTTE. The last thing people in North-East want is another war.

Really sad news...May Allah give the bereaved families the strength to cope with this tragedy. I hope a detailed and transparent inquiry will be conducted and people who planned these attacks and their supporters will be punished. Terrorism needs to denounced in all its forms. It has no race or religion and those who conduct such heinous crimes don't deserve to be called humans.

How do you know this. This is fake news You are fake

    Questions Sunday, 21 April 2019 05:27 PM

Why should they keep radical material with them while such mission? Is that for framing? Why they should target Christians while there were no threat to muslims by Christians in sri lanka? Why they attack now while silent during all the attack for mosques were done in the past? For me it looks like a political game and better investigate further before any conclusion.

    I know it Sunday, 21 April 2019 05:28 PM

What are the "radical Islamic extremists" material? How do you identify them?

Common man Sunday, 21 April 2019 05:47 PM

When investigations are undergoing, how these media can link this brutal attack with religions.. Just say terrorist or extremist rather connecting with religion

Very sad to hear. Let truth come out after impartial investigation and culprits should be punished according to the law of the land .
