Sri Lanka recorded over 15,500 COVID-19 cases and 84 fatalities as of this evening since last Thursday (29).
A total number of 15, 568 COVID patients have been detected since last Thursday in the country.
Accordingly 120,521 confirmed COVID patients have been detected so far, while total recoveries stand at 101,763.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, there are 18,014 patients still under medical care.
Also, the country has done a total number of 26,360 PCR tests on May 5 alone while the highest number of PCR tests (27,104) per day was performed on April 30.
As such the country has performed over 2.8 million PCR tests as of May 5.
Moreover, 6,705 individuals are currently at 74 quarantine centres across the country.
Meanwhile, as of today (7), 111 Grama Niladhari Divisions and six Police Areas have been placed under isolation since April 22.(Sheain Fernandopulle)
