The Tamil National Alliance (TNA), which commands the support of 15 MPs in Parliament, said it would not be party to any government though it voted to unseat the current administration.

Jaffna District TNA MP and leader of the People’s Liberation Organisation of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE), Dharmalingam Sithathdan told Daily Mirror that it only voted to oust the current government as it was unlawful.

When asked whether the TNA would join hands with the UNP-led political front that was being formed, he said they would not join any alliance and that they had their own alliance of Tamil parties.(Kelum Bandara)

TNA is making this sudden turnaround, after having worked hand in glove with Ranil, is because they are loosing credibility among the Tamils for playing second fiddle in a drama that is for the Sinhalese,by the Sinhalese and to the Sinhalese. TNA fear being completely wiped out by the party formed by Wigneswaran at the next elections.

Saman, pls read the article carefully. They say that they'll not join any Govt only. But they admit that they've voted against the unconstitutional govt. Thus favourable to UNP in this aspect only.

Why would they be in ggovernemnt in a foreogn country? They still have their separatist idealsOrdinary Tamils want to live in peace in a cpintry with falling poverty and at least 6 percent growth and a decent infrastructure. Once that is set in place there is no need for TNA. It will die

Part to a party or not this group needs to change their name to something else other than " People’s Liberation Organization of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE) " for someone like me this name smells inimical and has more of an antagonistic content.

Excellent Decision by TNA. Sitharthan commands great respect from Tamil, Muslims and Sinhalese. Keep this up TNA. Bring some sanity to the Parliament proceedings while remembering the rights of the Tamil people.

So TNA wants to be always in the opposition of any government formed. Come on guys.... you always think of your next election..... as a tamil i am ashamed of you guys... you guys have a history of blocking any development projecta that are carried out by government citing there may be an hidden agenda...this is how you always cheat ordinary tamils. You guys never forget to enjoy any fringe benefits given by government but refuse all ordinary tamils benefit from the govenrment. You must feel that this is our motherland and you can be part of govenrment to form constructive dialogues with our other communities... for good sake please think of ordinary tamils that have voted you and do some good work beyond your own political agenda...
