UK Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific, Mark Field has informed the UK Parliament last week that they expressed concern over the behaviour of some Sri Lankan MPs disrupting parliamentary proceedings.

The State Minister said this in response to a question asked by MP Liz McInnes about the latest political developments in Sri Lanka on December 17.

“The British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka met regularly with all political parties and expressed our concern at the behaviour of some MPs in disrupting parliamentary proceedings,” he told the parliament on December 20.

He said following the swearing in of Ranil Wickremesinghe as Prime Minister by President Maithripala Sirisena on December 16, he made a statement welcoming progress made towards the peaceful resolution of the political impasse in Sri Lanka since October.

“This outcome is a welcome indication of the resilience of Sri Lanka's judicial and democratic institutions, and of effective checks and balances between state powers. The UK will continue to stand by Sri Lanka as a close partner and friend, supporting Sri Lanka as it works to deliver sustainable and accountable reform to reinvigorate the economy, improve governance, and safeguard human rights across the country,” he said. We are a sovereign country. As such we behave like Hooligans. It is our culture. Thanks for the concern.

Most of the MP s are from uneducated, uncivilised and unethical families. They learned lot of things from their parents, not from the schools. We can't do anything as all the candidates in the election are in similar category.

I think you will change your mind if you see the cars they drive to parliament. You and your fellow parliamentarians will be left in the shade. Our parliamentarians are very qualified having specialist knowledge on drugs.

we never trying to say that, " our political idiots " are so good , but we would like to say to the UK parliament that, " mind your effing business ". We will look after out matters.

Well now you high and mighty sleeping idiots can see what is going on in our country. It is not just in parliament that these people carry on like hoodlums. It happens in our streets. We get attacked by criminal elements that is in parliament because nothing is being done about it.

We should express our concern about Labour Party MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle.

"This outcome is a welcome indication of the resilience of Sri Lanka's judicial and democratic institutions" A statement that challenges the notion of requiring foreign intervention in bringing justice to the victims of alleged war crimes.

A good friend is someone who help us guiding to the right things, not somebody who gives us a weapon when we are wrong, to kill others. If we do not know this basic truth, we don't deserve a place in the present world community. It seems some comments are made to reject a place in decent living and insist on the life of apes on trees. In fact who cares whether we are apes or humans. The only thing is we will not be welcome, and they will boycott us, including tourists.

Leave my country along and look after your honorable peoples behavior which whole world know who you are...

    Priya Thursday, 27 December 2018 08:42 AM

Why are u so concerned Mr.Minister? Just mind your own business please. These are internal issues and we will solve them internally and we don't need your help. There are better grave things happening in this world than this such as 1.Yemen War 2.Jamal Khashoggi killing 3.Syrian war etc... Why not comment on these stuff ??? LEAVE US ALONE !!! Well in the other hand our politicians must be blamed for entertaining these fellows......

    Yaka Thursday, 27 December 2018 08:51 AM

Really? The people of Sri Lanka were also concerned about the behaviour of Prince Charles who was having an extra marital affair when his last wife was married. Appalling isn’t it ?

    bindu Thursday, 27 December 2018 09:03 AM

Now we need a new political party devoid of all these 225 jokers.

    Jayanath Thursday, 27 December 2018 09:19 AM

These human right savers till now never utter a word about Guantanamo prison case! Never utters a word about children died in Iraq, Syria, etc by US bombing! They ruined and robbed our country for many year! Now the sucker want to teach us human rights.

Anil Dias Thursday, 27 December 2018 10:00 AM

We are also concerned about the wealth looted from our country by your people.

    BuffaloaCitizen Thursday, 27 December 2018 10:01 AM

Those fellows who misbehaved in parliament are those whose parents, grandparents, wife and children behave in a worse manner at home. Those leaders behind them are very well known for activities in corruption, nepotism etc....

    samanthi Thursday, 27 December 2018 10:26 AM

Thanks for the concerns, But it will be very meaningful if you had similar concerns at the time when terrorists killed our leaders and innocent people on the road and child soldiers were influenced to kill. At that time we seeked help to eliminate terrorism from our country. At least we had few leaders who had enough courage to save us from the terrorism.

    ken Thursday, 27 December 2018 10:49 AM

you should go back to history ask your parliament how the British behaved when they took over srilanka in 1815. destroying the lives of srilankans at that time

    Jude Thursday, 27 December 2018 12:28 PM

Well, we agree, some MP's out of control and crooked!!! However, some of your guys COULD be bought for Money !! Yeah, just ask GTF !!!??
