Two government Ministers representing Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP)- John Seneviratne and Susil Premajayantha had discussion with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Wednesday morning to seek the possibility of uniting the two factions.
Minister Seneviartne confirmed that an information meeting took place at the residence of the former President.
“We discussed how this unity can be brought about,” he said.
Asked whether there was any positive response, he replied, “It is not discouraging.”
He said the former President had assigned some of his people to work in this regard. (Kelum Bandara)

Ready to work even with devil to be in power. What will happen to all those corruption charges against most of the members in JO? We voters are the fools. These politicians all are the same. This country is heading towards disaster. Really sad.

It is shameful for President Sirisena as leader of SLFP to surrender to Mahinda Rajapakse this way. In public he says he cannot wear a sarong and accept to work with Mahinda and behind closed doors he allows a team of his party members to talk and negotiate with Mahinda who wants cases against him and his family dropped and the post of PM or Leader of the opposition given to him. There is no way Mahinda will be given PM post in the first instance but once he is the leader of the opposition he will bring a no confidence motion by taking members from the Govt to the opposition and triggering a constitutional crisis. Is this what Sirisena promised us all to get our votes? If this course of action proceeds Historians will call President Sirisena as a TRAITOR.

What type of politics are practised in Sri Lanka? These garbage politicians will practise anything to be in power. A new set of young and honest set of people are needed in SL to get this country out of this black hole.
