A strong trade delegation representing 16 top exporters of electrical and electronics companies from Turkey, along with Electrical Electronics & Service Exporters’ Association (TET), affiliated to the Turkish Ministry of Economy, will visit Colombo from November 3-4.
Turkey is one of the leading producers and exporters of electrical and electronics products in the world, with exports taking place to as many as more than 150 countries.
The total turnover of exports of electrical and electronic products is estimated US$ 14 billion, which highlights the strength and competitiveness of Turkish electrical and
electronic industry.
The opening ceremony of the delegation will be held at Hotel Cinnamon Grand Colombo on November 03. The keynote speech will be delivered by Turkish AmbassadorTunca Özçuhadar and Chairman of the board of TET Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu.
The representatives of these 16 top Turkish companies active in the field of electrical and electronics industry will gather to explore joint business and investment opportunities with their Sri Lankan counterparts.
TET is the premier association in Turkey for exporters of electrical and electronics. The main objective of TET is to enhance bilateral economic relations corporation with other countries, in electrical – electronics and service industries on behalf its 6,500 members. Besides increasing trade volume in bilateral relations, TET also aims to create new joint business and investment opportunities with the partner countries in general and with Electrical Electronics partner firms in particular.
Turkish companies stand on par with the world’s giants and TET has represented many internationally acclaimed fairs such as the International Consumer Electronics and Technology Fair 2016 (IFA) organized in the city of Berlin, Germany, in September 2016, the International Electricity organized by Iran Ministry of Energy. TET trade delegation recently visited Poland and Czech Republic and Sweden and Finland and the Dominican Republic and Panama.
Sri Lankan electrical – electronics and service experts opine that business delegate and TET intervention in Sri Lanka would create great openings for further trade enhancement and investment opportunities among entrepreneurs of Sri Lanka and Turkey. Sri Lanka’s exports to Turkey in 2015 reached US$ 150 million and the delegation’s visit will create more opportunities for Sri Lankan Electrical and Electronics sector to enter joint ventures and negotiate investment opportunities with Turkish entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile TET has appointed Perfect Headlines (Pvt) Ltd, a public relations (PR) & marketing company based in Colombo to coordinate the business delegation visit.
