It would be better if action is taken against Makandure Madush and others in Dubai itself without bringing them back to Sri Lanka, JVP MP Nalinda Jayatissa told Parliament today.
“It is better to take action against Madush and others in Dubai itself without bringing them to Sri Lanka. They could always use loophole in Sri Lanka laws or obtain a presidential pardon,” Dr. Jayatissa said.
“ This is an idea expressed by many over social media these days,” he added.
Referring to Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, the JVP MP said Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has been compelled to go into the extend of saving former President’s associates in order to save Mr. Mahendran who is his friend.
Dr. Jayatissa who responded to a statement made by President Maithripala Sirisena’s brother that those who put villagers into trouble by lending money at high interest rates should be chased out from villages, said those mill owners who harass farmers should also be chased out.(Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

Bo you can get all these details and more in Dubai. All that has to be done is get the Dubai authorities to dangle some carrot and get the information. A man who is threatened with a real prospect of a real punishment ( only in Dubai) will be an ideal source to spill the beans. I agree with the the JVP sentiments because the Government of SL is corrupt to the bone.

AGREE! We do not need to bring them to SL on our tax payers expenses and for them to stay in hospital with luxury facilities including communication facilities! This whole thing will look a farce at the end of the day! Let them be dealt in the land they were caught! Please also expose the diplomat passport holder and the prison guard!

Fully agree. At least UAE will comply their law against drug trafficking for these culprits. If they come to SL they will be freed eventually. Do not try to interfere UAE criminal justice! Let them UAE government decide on what to do with these morons!
