The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today charged that it was not the court but President Sirisena’s government that was responsible for the verdict permitting the registration of SAITM medical graduates with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).
JVP MP Bimal Ratnayake said permission was granted to a corrupted and illegal institute which was misused by the Rajapaksa political authority. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)

If the JVP does not like private universities, get rid of the Z score and get the best into the government universities irrespective from where they have had their secondary education. Makes sense?

Dont mislead the people. You are provoking students to get political mileage. Why you all did not protest during 2009 when it was established by MR.Now there are about 800 to 1000 students studying there .Your solution is to abolish this institute and pay compensation to students. This is the way JVP government is going to solve problems. If this was a company and government is going to close it, will you bring the same argument? If it is abolished what is the future of these students. Instead why dont you suggest to raise the standard of this.

Why this opposition to private education? Because those students escape their brainwashing.

No one talks about rectifying deficiencies if any and make use of these graduates. That shows the insensitivity of JVP and jealousy. They don't mind someone spending 5 times that amount, getting a degree from serbia or mongolia. They don't like someone spending 20% of that money here in SL thus saving foreign currency and trouble of getting acclimatized to a foreign culture. If there are deficiencies let u rectify that. Let the students spend and additional year if it is the need. These are young bright resources with which you are playing. Just because these students are not under your control, it doesn't mean that they are not human beings. They are not some mudalali's son/daughters. People sell lands and educate their kids. Even if a mudalali wants to spend money on education, is it wrong? These people want to control people's intelligence. In university they want everyone to behave the same way.

JVP ALWAYS COMES OUT WITH VERY DISTURBING REVELATIONS (BASELESS). CANT HE BE CHARGED FOR CONTEMPT OF COURT FOR INSULTING THE ORDER

I was considering voting for the Bell at the next provisional council elections as it is not decisive to the main political landscape in Sri Lanka. The more I hear these speeches being made for political milage we need to think twice before voting for the cracking bell.
