Mr.Vajira is the man to be held for this situation because 07 muslim candidates contested for the Galle Municipality and all the 07 were elected. But he form the Council he had to go along with SLFP and wanted to give the Mayorship to Jilith and Deputy to an SLFP candidate finally what happened. Mr.Vajira don't try to fool the people all the time by giving false promises. If he would have given the Mayor or Deputy to muslim he would have formed the UNP council

Vajira must have thought twice before offering the Mayorship to Jilith because Vajira was a lost candidate and he was elected under the present Yahapalanaya to be neutral but unfortunately he never dreamt of losing the Council. Galle Municipal Council history is UNP but last 02 councils went to the PA and this time won by the UNP and for the stupid decision by vajira the council went to SLPP. This is what happen when you are over confidence. Wait and see next election vajira will be sent back home. Hats off to the brave council members who voted in electing the Mayor.
