We 3rd grade citizens select and elect 3rd grade politicians from their societies who are crooks, robbers, looters, scavengers, lairs and opportunist. Then we complain politicians. Society itself morally bankrupt so what to expect from politicians. Don't just blame politicians we are part of this system and we must be culprits.
