Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) Leader and Parliamentarian Arumugam Thondaman today requested all plantation workers to join in an indefinite strike from tomorrow.
He said this after a meeting with the senior management of plantation companies today. He said the employers did not agree with their request to increase their daily wages to Rs. 1000.
MP Thondaman said they held a discussion with former Finance Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa earlier. During the discussion, the finance ministry had suggested providing loans with zero interests to workers. However, this proposal was also turned down by the Plantation companies. (Indika Sri Aravinda)

You are! I have no words to describe you. You keep your poor people as a pawn for you to get political mileage. I feel sorry for the people who vote for you and go for strikes on behalf of you. You are a living shame to the plantations Tamils. You are a disgrace to your late father and a disgrace to the plantations Tamils and a disgrace country as a whole.

His promise was that he would resign from parliament and we are awaiting that he would be honest at least by the workers before depriving them of their income.

Please stop exploiting the innocent estate workers in the name of collecting "sandha" money. That's the first thing that you should do. You collect 150 Rs every month as Sandha from the estate workers and living a luxury life flying to India.
