MP Namal Rajapaksa’s former secretary Ornella Iresha Silva was arrested this morning at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake following a court order.

She arrived at the BIA at 05.07 this morning from Abu Dhabi

Later she was handed over to the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) officers at the airport.

She was wanted over the court case involving alleged money laundering which is to be taken up at the Colombo Magistrate's Court today. (Deepa Adikari)

Don't be so optimistic. Why do you think the lady decided to come back to Sri Lanka all of a sudden? To face the music? After all I would not be surprised if they had destroyed all the evidence against the lady by now, like Mrs. Weerawansa's files that had got disappeared even from the court custody or like Thajudeen's body parts that had gone missing. Or even like the missing log book pages of the Presidential Secretariat on the day he was killed. The list goes on.

What was the indecent haste to arrest her if her inquiry is to be fixed after 5 months? Big show by arresting her at the Airport and eventually let her free! The money laundering case is going on but her inquiry is postponed for nearly 5 months!! Miracle of Asia!!!
