Muslim Ministers and MPs would be compelled to vote in favour of a No-Confidence Motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, in the event such a motion was brought if the Government was unable to control violence against Muslims in Kandy, Deputy Minister H. M. M. Harees told Parliament today.

"We will be compelled to vote in favour of a No Confidence Motion against the Prime Minister-if such a motion is brought to Parliament- if he failed to visit the affected areas and resolve issues faced by the people in the troubled areas," the Deputy Minister said.

He questioned as to why the Government was unable to control unrest in one small area.

"Assaults and arson that is taking place in Kandy should be stopped forthwith," he said. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

Ranil is not only a very weak person,he is born with a peculiar personality of no empathy and no vision. How he became a Prime Minister is in unbelievable,he is not fit to be even a Mayor. He should go !!

    E-Con-Mist Thursday, 08 March 2018 07:52 AM

So, you want the looters to return to pocket any balances!!?

    Pohottuwa Wednesday, 07 March 2018 10:52 PM

Yes all Muslim MP's should betray the government and create havoc in parliament so that our objective to create schism make the government unstable will come to fruition.

    shan Thursday, 08 March 2018 11:28 AM

No Racism. Stop all this hatred and arson and violence.Stop the Racism. Say no to creating and inciting violence. Stop targeting the minority groups. Stop the racism. Arrest and punish those evil people who wants to start another civil war. Enough is enough. Say no to hate and racism. No civil war. No to Racism

All know who did the crime and they will be released or will be forced to release. To balance the act they will play a drama in parliament and fool the people. Publicity sponsored by media.

    VJ Wednesday, 07 March 2018 11:00 PM

This is the primary objective of those who instigated the violence.

RMT Costa Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:38 AM

Never allow Ranil to remain in his seat, go a head.

Kandy Kotiya Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:40 AM

Ranil is the game player, he will do anything to remain in power.

    lokka Wednesday, 07 March 2018 11:16 PM

    just do it

Jal Perera Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:36 AM

    Welcome move... carry on boys.

    Akhila Wednesday, 07 March 2018 11:32 PM

I am not promoting hate crimes, but I wonder why our ministers and citizens don't take actions like this when national gems like Wilpattu is burnt down.

    Malim Wednesday, 07 March 2018 11:37 PM

There ia a queue. You have to join it.

    Truth Wednesday, 07 March 2018 11:41 PM

    Zak Thursday, 08 March 2018 07:47 AM

Don’t blame a community for the issue of wilpattu, even Muslims are against the such an environmental issue. If the authorities and the ministers are ok for the deforestation, what can a community do. We have 225 MP and majority are Sinhalese. So blame it on them for not taking action

    Akhila Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:03 AM

Who said anything about blaming a community? I certainly didn’t point fingers at a race as you so did. I simply pointed out why no one is doing anything about the forest being burnt down regardless of religion or race! It’s people like you who look for the division of society speak about how each religion or race has affected it! Get your head out of the gutter!

    Arnold Thursday, 08 March 2018 08:59 AM

THAT WAS THE MOTIVE!! We hear the person who was attacked by the drunkards was alive and well but he was killed later on by giving poisonous injection, to stage this drama.

Freddy Yong Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:17 AM

There is enough and more flak against the PM but he is thick skinned. The President can not take a drastic action to remove him because he has to be self conscious of the fact that it was through Ranil's assistance that they were able to send Mahinda home. Ranil don't have to go if both agree to install FM Sarath Fonseka, the most suitable man for the job of law and order. What is holding them back. The PM is duty bound to reveal why ??

    Shan Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:19 AM

They don't have the guts to do it. Muslim ministers and MPs don't care of anything and support any Government in power for their living.

    AZ Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:25 AM

Pls vote against him even if the violence is controlled!!

Justin Kanangara (Professor) Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:27 AM

Yes gentleman, you are right... RW who pre-arranged this dirty move for him to be escape from the No Confidence Motion, as the situation is worsen it is better everyone should vote against RW and remove him from the seat.

    S.T.M. Jabeer (Attorney-at-Law) Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:28 AM

PM is the main cause for these incidents, still he is not atall bothered about the situation, hence the right thing is to remove him voting against him.

    L.P. Mendis Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:31 AM

Very good move, the entire nation wants Ranil should be removed and replaced with Sajith, for that all Muslims should work hard as they are badly effected.

Raman Gnanasekeran Thursday, 08 March 2018 09:34 AM

PM is an opportunist, he can twist anything, now in order to avoid NCM he had acted this drama, he will not stop the violence, better all the Muslim MP's should stand against him and remove him.

Leel Munasinghe Thursday, 08 March 2018 10:38 AM

As PM is a close associate of MR, both have the same power hunger, both are dangerous, my God.

    M.R.M. Muzamil Thursday, 08 March 2018 10:40 AM

Anyway, NCM should take place and RW should be thrown out.

    Rasheed Thursday, 08 March 2018 10:32 AM

Useless, who ever comes to power, the fate of the minorities are same. The minorities are like Karupincha, throw it after cooking.

Hasika Amarapala Thursday, 08 March 2018 10:36 AM

I have noticed most of the DM readers expressed their opinion to remove Ranil and replace someone, it is a very reasonable thought as this man had not done anything to the nation but to cling unto his seat and cheat the masses. Yes, Sajith Premadasa is the right choice. Go a head boys.

Saud Mohamed Thursday, 08 March 2018 10:48 AM

PM is at no fault. He has done his duty by instructing the Police to maintain law and order. It is the Police that has not carried out its duties diligently. So PM has to be given time to take follow up action in this regard. PM is also a human being. He cannot take action without carefully inquiring into blunders of the Police. It is obvious that the Police had been just bystanders when arson had taken place. It is a fact that some (not all) of the police personnel are themselves involved in this sort of activities. So it will take time for the Prime Minister to sort out matters. So it is regretful that some of the Muslim MPs seem to take decisions without thinking in depth all the detais

Martin Milton Thursday, 08 March 2018 04:55 PM

REALLY!! Is this the attitude of PEACE? Speaks so much of this unfortunate person who is attempting to intimidate the Government. MM
