A protest rally organised by the Ceylon Motorcyclists Association (CMA) was held today at the Galle Face Roundabout in Colombo. Hundreds of motorcyclists were seen walking towards the Presidential Secretariat before they were obstructed by the Police. Pix by Nisal Baduge

Police should not ban riders with full face helmets on while riding instead they should bring a rule warning people not to walk with the full face helmets on road.

There were several crimes that were committed under the cover of full face helmets during past couple of months and I think they must be banned. Most of the accidents involving motorcycles we see on the road are due to speed and negligence of motorcycle riders. So if the riders slow down and obey the traffic law, then they can minimize injuries to themselves while wearing a helmet that shows the face.
