Skipper Angelo Mathews will return home on Monday following the latest injury scare.
Mathews who has been battling injury since 2016, has reported of a stiffness in his right hamstring following their first game of the tri-series against Zimbabwe on Tuesday.
“He will arrive here on Monday,” said CEO Ashley de Silva. He needs at least three weeks of rest.
Sri Lanka Cricket earlier said that Mathews has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for two matches in the ongoing tri-series in Bangladesh.
Dinesh Chandimal will lead Sri Lanka in his absence.
A hamstring injury had troubled Mathews recently too when he had been ruled out of action for over two weeks. He picked up that injury while bowling in a T20 against India in Indore and could not complete his quota of overs.
