The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) said yesterday they had identified two children who had lost both parents in the Meethotamulla catastrophe while two other children had lost one of their parents.
NCPA Deputy Chairman Sajeeva Samaranayake said they had submitted a report to the Department of Probation and Child Care Services on the plight faced by the four children.
The Probation and Child Care Services Officer of the Kolonnawa Divisional Secretariat said the two children who were orphaned were in the custody of their relatives and were being closely monitored by officials of the NCPA and the Department of Probation and Child Care Services. (Ajith Siriwardana)
