The Italian Candy Group, a leader in small and major home appliances, yesterday unveiled two of its latest innovations—the Candy Watch and Touch oven and Candy Bianca washing machine, with its authorised dealer in Sri Lanka, Softlogic, at a launch ceremony held at the Movenpick Hotel, Colombo.

The Candy Watch and Touch oven and Candy Bianca washing machine, two innovative products equipped with the latest technology, come from Candy’s ‘Simply-fi Series’, which was introduced in 2014 to offer the world’s first range of major, single-application, Wifi connected household appliances.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Candy Asia Pacific Ltd South East Asia Export Area Manager Massimo Poma said: “Today we invite you to discover how Candy can help make your life easier, so you can have more time to do the things you love. At Candy, we believe in smart innovation, but only when it is really useful, that’s why we’ve created the smartest, most intelligent and intuitive appliances ever, namely the Candy Bianca washing machine and Candy Watch and Touch oven.”

Also speaking at the launch, Softlogic Retail (Pvt.) Ltd CEO Nasser Majeed said that: “This is the first range of appliances that can actually communicate with you wherever you are, and all of us at Softlogic are delighted to be associated with Candy on this occasion, where we enable you to ‘Simply-fi’ your day with the most complete, up-to-date and connected appliances.” Elaborating more on the products, Candy Asia Pacific Ltd Trade Marketing Manager Joan Wong explained that the Candy Watch and Touch oven is the ‘game-changer’ and is the only oven with an all-touch Total Control Screen door, an integral HD video camera, exclusive video recipes and four different cooking modes.

“It has even won the Red Dot award for product design this year, considered to be the most important international design award, given over the years to companies of absolute excellence such as Apple, BMW, Google, Bose and the Italian Pininfarina,” she said.

Joan Wong went on to explain that the Candy Bianca washing machine is the first washing machine with intuition and advanced features.

“The Candy Bianca washing machine is easy-to-use as Bianca listens, understands consumer needs and performs the most effective and suitable washing programme to their specific needs. For the first time ever, you can talk to your washing machine with your smartphone thanks to the ‘Talking Bianca’ function,” Wong said.

‘Talking Bianca’ offers natural dialogue alongside intelligent interaction, and Bianca can assist users in choosing the right programme, saving user habits and also provide washing tips.

As the authorised dealer for Candy products in Sri Lanka, Softlogic is offering customers a special cash discount of 35 percent, as well as up to 60 months interest-free instalment plans with all leading banks, with low monthly payments on the entire Candy kitchen and home appliances range.
