Speaker Karu Jayasuriya said yesterday that he would not be intimidated by any threats or obstacles placed in his way and would safeguard the democracy even by sacrificing his life.

In a statement issued after yesterday’s riotous incidents inside the chamber of the Parliament where UPFA members prevented him from taking his seat, the Speaker said he earnestly requested the people of the country who loved their motherland to maintain peace in the country.

Your integrity was shown that day compared to the monkey sitting on your chair and the goons around him. Sad thing is we must be a country of fools to elect people like them.

Karu Jayasuriya said yesterday that he would not be intimidated by any threats or obstacles placed in his way and would safeguard the democracy even by sacrificing his life .... this was the dirt bag who landed his helicopter during a scheduled new year event which had to be cancelled because this jack ass didn't plan his trip. Is that how you safeguard democracy ? Biased and favoritism towards UNP and JVP on NC motion ... is that democracy ? You moron get loss or you will be thrown out .. get someone new with brains and compassion.

As a speaker, you should not be biased to any party and should comply with the parliament rules and regulations.

Today Hemasiri is trying to teach you his foolish systems how to bring a NCM against PM.As for the second time also through the NCM the elected government is defeated including Secretaries. How could he challenge the parliament if he is not in service.

BE BOLD. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THESE THUGS WHO WANT TO MARK TIME TILL THEY BUY BALANCE NUMBERS. THEY WILL FINALLY NOT BE ABLE TO SHOW A MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT AND WILL HAVE TO GIVE UP THEIR STRUGGLE.

There is peace in the country but not in your department. Take care of that first Sir,

Mr. Jayasuriya you are more valuable to the country alive than dead. If the Police and the AG is not willing to enforce the law there is nothing out there to protect. MS is like the grim reaper of Democracy. He is the person who turned his back on the people who elected him. I sure the people would never make the same mistake again.

Kari Jayasooriya must hold responsibility at least in part for inciting unruly behaviour on the 1th. I don't condone behaviour of the handful MP's, but the situation was inflamed by Karu bringing police to the chamber, what democracies in the West does for transgression of parlimentary ethics is to suspend the transgressing mp for a period and allow police to investigate and not bring police to the chamber. If he was impartial, he should have acted properly on the 15th after the brawl. There are rules regarding bringing NCM, he did not follow any of these rules.so he must take the blame for the unrest too. He does not seem to have knowledge of parliamentary procedure.

Please, get lost the honored seat you, a third-rated person, has seated forcibly. You looked one of the worst Speaker this country ever had in history.

    Rajaratnam Saturday, 17 November 2018 11:57 PM

I watched the whole proceedings of the Parliament. It is obvious you provoked the MR supporters while MR has not completed his speech. Why did you do it ? Your single action created the rowdy response and the escalation into violence in the Parliament ever since. I am not a MR fan but we have to side with the truth.
