In fairness to Mangala he is honest about it. What of the numerous married pretender s? Who ruin many a life.

Managla is not a god that controls a persons Sexual orientation which comes from their birth. Mangala only believes in equality and to allow Homosexuals to be accepted.

So what. Why are these people speaking of being Gay as a 'disease'. Are they still in the 19th century ?

Since none of these STDs are limited to Gay people. I don't see the relevance of National Venereal Diseases and Prevention of AIDS project trying to count the number of gay people in the country. Also 7500 seems a statistically low figure.

The bitter truth is, unlimited freedom lead to human regression. There is no one called gay. It always your mind that create who you are. In conclusion it's a psychological game. There should be a frame work for human otherwise its difficult to understand the differentiate between human and animals.

The data is totally wrong. 7500 impossible. It could be more than 20,000 I suppose.

Very sad. Parents should be given proper guidance on how to grow children, If a child's life is broken into pieces the result will be LGBT and our crazy society will laugh at them.

The real minority in SL are not the Tamils, but LGBTI. Current social stigma and laws make them live double lives causing irreversible damage to society, such as this incident. Laws made in 18th century must be amended.

I’m sorry but is it possible to sue you for this article? There are hundreds of people who aren’t gay and have aids! What kind of utter crap is this? This is not only hateful it’s also hate invoking, and the only reason some members of the community have aids is because this country refuses to accept that it has a gay community and because it refuses to provide the community with proper sex education and actually the country in general has no sex education. It’s terrible that a primarily Buddhist country, a philosophy that teaches tolerance and kindness, is guilty of segregating and hating on a very really community! Your hate speech will not change people’s sexual orientation, neither will it magically make the community dissapear. Learn acceptance, learn to love one and other, if you aren’t gay that’s fine, but if you know someone who is let them be, their orientation doesn’t affect you in anyway.

This is extremely poor journalism. The 7500 number is not indicative of anything more than reach in terms of government programming to provide health related services through the Global Fund programme. Furthermore, living with HIV in 2018 is a reality. The language of AIDS is at and end. Time to update your facts - http://www.bakamoono.lk/en/hiv/1674/living-with-hiv
