The GMOA said today it would take legal action against Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne, Higher Education Minister Lakshman Kiriella and others who have allegedly misused public funds.

The GMOA told a media conference that the ministers had resorted to supplementary estimates to pump in millions of rupees to the Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital (NFTH).

Spokesman Prasad Kollambage said this matter was taken up with the Bribery Commission earlier and a complaint would now be made to the FCID.

Meanwhile, the GMOA has written to President Maithripala Sirisena to consider the request made by the Mahanaayaka Theras with regard to the SAITM issue.

It said it was awaiting the President’s decision on the SAITM issue. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)

Oh! You collected all the "Riffraff's" as seen by the posters in front of the Fort Railway Station. All failed and now go to courts. What a bunch of jokers. The first option was to have gone to courts.

No use! FCID was a brain child of PM Ranil Wickremasinghe and it had been operated illegally without the knowledge of President, before being made a legal body later.

    Sugath Tuesday, 24 October 2017 10:12 AM

Bunch of jokers is not the word to be used to call these guy's. They have been disturbing the general public by having there so called protest time to time creating heavy traffic in the city and out skirts. Public must take them to court and punished them severely. These morons are a menace to our society. Please don't eliminate SAITM. We support SAITM.

    SAM Tuesday, 24 October 2017 10:27 AM

Its time the Public strike against these mad buggers who are being paid paid by us and and are not doing their expected service to the people.

Lucien Fernandopulle Tuesday, 24 October 2017 10:28 AM

It is very pathetic to see the present status of GMOA where a bunch extremists dances to a political agenda rather than working towards the improvement and benefit of the Medical doctors in the government sector. This is very clearly seen from the responses in this column.

    s.shiha Tuesday, 24 October 2017 10:54 AM

Is not this their problem? How to bring Mahinda to power?

    amitha Tuesday, 24 October 2017 11:42 AM

The ministers should take action against GMOA! for misusing our time and funds - for wasting students study time, etc. etc. GMOA has nothing better to do than think of more and more attacks, one way or another.

    alex Tuesday, 24 October 2017 11:45 AM

please do so if you are really sincere. I am sure GMOA will not do it just like MR will not take up Anura's challenge

    suresh Tuesday, 24 October 2017 11:46 AM

GMOA should be taken to courts for renegading on the Hippocratic oath and for allowing patients to suffer and die after having obtained free education at other people's tax money

    SL Tuesday, 24 October 2017 01:07 PM

GMOA have become jokers. Public should protest against the Doctors....!!
