JVP MP Bimal Ratnayake said today former MP Piyasiri Wijenayake, who was held responsible for fraud by PRECIFAC, had accompanied the President on his recent visit to Japan and said this would negatively influence the legal proceedings against him.
He asked in parliament how the President took him on a state visit when he was accused of a fraud by a commission.
"Mr. Wijenayake was seen attending a discussion between the President and the Japanese Prime Minister. How is the law enforced on such suspects when they are taken on state visits like this. I ask the Law and Order minister to inform parliament whether this would unduly influence the judiciary and the police," Mr. Ratnayake asked.
He said PRECIFAC had held about 200 people responsible for fraud and corruption. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

The President is another JOKER. How he could do such a thing, only he would know. Those of us who have at least a little of what we call the "BRAIN" are ashamed of this circus. We should shoot ourselves in our foot for having voted for him.

That's how Sri Lankan politics work. Most importantly that's how our voters select the best people for making rules. More and more frauds, drug dealing, raping etc.

Imagine what happens if Japanese PM was given a whisper by one of his advisors that this Wijenayaka fellow was a rouge, while discussions were proceeding? The President was going to lose his face after facing a difficult situation. After all, it is the duty of this so-called minister of law and order to screen the people accompanying President and let him know the calibre of these guys if President is ignorant about his own team / parliamentarians.

No one in delegation cares ..... they are all swindlers of public funds. Do you really believe a three decade old political bum will change for betterment of the people ?
