Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera should resign from his post for removing Customs Director General P. S. M Charles, the Opposition said today.
MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara said Ms. Charles had been removed because she had continued to investigate incidents of smuggling at Customs, irking some individuals.
“By reinstating Ms. Charles, Minister Samaraweera has admitted that it was wrong to remove her from the post of Customs Director General. The work-to-rule campaign launched by the Customs workers against this move resulted in a loss of over Rs.1,000 billion to the state,” he said. (Lahiru Pothmulla)

Even if their demand is mixed with hypocrisy, I still agree with it. We know very well the caliber of their DG's !
