An election may be a way out of the current political deadlock only if a legal government is appointed and the President's authority to dissolve Parliament is clarified, UNF member and Tamil Progressive Front (TPF) Leader Mano Ganesan said yesterday.

He said there was no way that an election could be held under an SLPP-led government.

“An election may be a way out only if these two conditions are met,” he added. (Yohan Perera)

A general election may not be the solution. What would happen in case the UNP wins? The President will refuse to appoint RW as the PM and we are back to square one. I think Presidential election would be a good solution.

First come first served. Likewise President created a serious problem that is putting the parliament in disarray, country in a chaos and therefore, before anyone talk about General election, President must appoint a proper and legal Prime minister with a government.

Correct and make the Maximum age limit 60 years at the nomination closing date . Otherwise we might face the situ like today where the TRIPLE MS , MR and RW are taking Sri Lanka NO WHERE for their power GREEDINESS .

Mad guys lost their bearings. If an election comes up, it would be handled by the Election Commissioner. There will be no government or other individuals conducting it. So what you say ganeshan is a load of crap.
