Minister of Regional Development Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka yesterday said that all the recommendations made by the United Nation’s Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva cannot be accepted as not all the charges were true.
He said some charges were exaggerated and were made after the war based on the agendas of a few to sling mud at the country. “There could be exceptions but we are not ready to blindly accept all the allegations brought against the country,” he said.
The Minister said the Rajapaksa administration had aggravated the issue when the war crime claims were first made. "Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his brother, then Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s offensive behaviour aggravated the issue further," he said. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)

Very true, though most Tamils and Sinhalese hate this guy, I think he is an honest guy who can bring justice and peace to this troubled land. The extreme and egoistic views of the two races have to be shed if we need to prosper. Else we can follow our blind prides, while the Alibaba and 225 thiefs rob us sell the country to foreign powers. Time to wake up and put things correct!!!

Field Marshal, most cultured Jaffna Hindu Tamils, some still in Jaffna and the majority moved to America or Australia,do not believe the elimination of the LTTE to the last man was a war crime.Actually Sri Lankan Army did justice to the Tamils by liquidating the Tiger terrorists. But the contention is Tamil civilians died due to actions of the Sri Lankan Army while being kept as human shield by the shameful paper Tigers. Those innocent Tamil deaths have to be investigated comprehensively, that is all and nothing more the silent Tamil majority is asking.

if any hybrid court set up, US and some European and Jewish group in US automatically can be charge with war crime because they were main partners for 30 years since 1983.Also, there is evidence that they were behind every riot including recent one. Finally it is better for US, Israel and Jewish group in US try not to promote hatred worldwide against Singhala majority but try friendship which will be better for US and Israel interest.

The UN Resolution recommendations originated as a result of Sri Lanka co sponsoring with the US. If they are exaggerated then proven them wrong at the Judiciary.

Well said it.... 30/1 was agreed to after many revisions by the Gov't of SLK and now back peddling to implement the treaty in full respect. What type of a message will this send to the rest of the world about our politicians and their integrity ? Do you want the world to measure you as a SLK'n with the same scale when you travel abroad ?

SL name is already blemished. Nobody in the world offered to takeover Sri Lankan which shows how bad out credibility has gone.

Though he was in the field most of the crimes have been committed without his knowledge because orders have been given direct from Colombo.

SF was jailed for corruption by the same army he commanded. His FM title is a sham. His own army shot dead naked handcuffed militants, White Flag Bearers, shelled civilians, and caused hundreds arrested, to 'disappear'.
