Former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage was released on bail by the Colombo High Court today in connection with the case filed against him on charges of failing to declare his assets utilized to purchase a house in Kynsey Road, Borella.
The former minister had allegedly purchased the house for Rs.27 million during his tenure under the former government. Indictments were also submitted at the Colombo High Court today when the case was taken up.
High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga released MP Aluthgamage on a cash bail of Rs.200,000 and two sureties of Rs. 500,000 each.
The case was postponed for June 10. (Farook Thajudeen)
