Hopefully Supreme Court would give an impartial verdict!

    Siripala Monday, 12 November 2018 11:06 AM

Will the judges be honest in giving the verdict

    Saradiel Monday, 12 November 2018 11:09 AM

Hope that the judgement will be against dissolution of the parliament. Then the parliament has to meet within a few days and a vote to be taken to show the majority. After that the party with the majority can form a government and continue for the remainder of the period or go for an election on mutual agreement with other parties. If the supreme court decides in favor of the dissolution, it will be a disaster since any president can do the same in future too. In this scenario, even if UNP coalition wins the election, there is no guarantee that they can stay in power for too long. Not got for any party or the country.

If the Supreme court can give verdict or else guldelines in a consttiutional deadlock ASAP so much the better since Public service specially higher officials at loss of direction.

    TInkiriya Monday, 12 November 2018 12:00 PM

Please make sure the verdict is also ambiguous so that we can fight over this as well. What's the point of another comedy without laughs?

    Sharon Monday, 12 November 2018 12:10 PM

We have to accept the decision of SC. Please don't say that SC is biased when the verdict is out and if it is against your wish...

    Samson Monday, 12 November 2018 12:18 PM

Filing petitions is one thing, result is another. Will we have to use the Duck worth Lewis formulae?

MOHAMMED NABEEL ZUBAIR Monday, 12 November 2018 12:21 PM

Chief Justice Nalin Perera was appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena as a Justice of the Supreme Court in March 2016Naduth hamuduruwange baduth hamuduruwange

    Ganesh Monday, 12 November 2018 12:42 PM

No-one can expect just because he was appointed who would fail to uphold the justice which is lifeline to democracy

    Paul Monday, 12 November 2018 12:39 PM

Now the time has come to check whether we have Independent Commissions which have been set up under the 19th amendment to the constitution. But our President said one year ago that they are in experimental position. If it is so democracy in dark.

    Yahiya Monday, 12 November 2018 02:21 PM

Judgement will change the history of Sri lanka

    ET Monday, 12 November 2018 02:52 PM

I am certain Chief Justice Nalin will be of the mould of former Chief Justice Justice Dep. We cab expect a fair hearing. But if constitutional lawyers and the lawyers in UNP has blundered then no one can help.

JK Hatton Monday, 12 November 2018 02:59 PM

Fundamental Right petitions, violation of constitution are NOT major news for Sri Lankan media - A bitter truth.

Varsha ahan Monday, 12 November 2018 03:02 PM

Why UNP and JVP afraid of election ? So funny . If they are so sure majority of people for their side , why fear ?

    DHA Monday, 12 November 2018 04:08 PM

...Cos they know their fate as long as RW remains in power....

    Aquarius Monday, 12 November 2018 03:17 PM

This is an ideal test to determine if we have an independent and impartial Supreme Court/Judiciary.

    Rasheed Monday, 12 November 2018 04:03 PM

SC judge, don't be another Sarath de Silva. who asked pardon from the public after 10 years.

Pon Kulendiren Monday, 12 November 2018 04:07 PM

Why is that Mani Ganesan group and Muslim Congres did not file a petition Any reason? I pray to god that supreme court verdict on an emergency basis will save the country
